G. Venkatesh - Chairman of the Board
G. Venkatesh is an entrepreneur, executive, and investor who serves on the boards of several technology companies. Most recently, he was vice president of switching products at Broadcom Corp. Venkatesh previously was president and CEO of Maverick Networks, which he founded in 1998 and which Broadcom acquired in 1999. A resident entrepreneur at Mayfield Fund in 1995, Venkatesh was recruited by Mayfield to be president and CEO of Silicon Light Machines, acquired by Cypress Semiconductor in 2000. Earlier, he spent ten years at Adaptec, Inc., as general manager and a senior executive officer.
Danial Faizullabhoy - Director
Danial Faizullabhoy has more than 16 years of venture capital investment, management, technical and marketing experience, specializing in the semiconductor and communications industries. Mr. Faizullabhoy is the President and CEO of BroadLogic. He brings breadth and depth of running an early stage semiconductor company through his experience as a Vice President General Manager at Adaptec and experience as a Venture Capitalist at Walden International. Faizullabhoy joined Walden International in 1998 as a General Partner. Prior to joining Walden International, Faizullabhoy was Vice President and General Manager of Adaptec Inc., where he was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, and business development of semiconductor peripheral hard disk, target silicon and firmware solutions. Previously, Faizullabhoy was a design engineer with Production Automation. Portfolio companies where Faizullabhoy is or has been a member of the board of directors include BroadLogic Inc., Scenix Semiconductor, Inc., Morphics, Inc., GooBoo Inc. and other portfolio companies of Walden International. Faizullabhoy received his MBA in finance and marketing from Santa Clara University, California, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a Computer Science minor, from Norwich University, Vermont.
Elizabeth A. Fetter - Director
Elizabeth A. Fetter was appointed to serve on Ikanos Communications, Inc.'s board of directors in June 2008. Fetter brings to the Ikanos Communications board more than 25 years of senior business experience, most recently serving as president and CEO of Jacent Technologies Inc., an order automation company for the restaurant industry. Prior to Jacent, she held the positions of president, CEO and director for QRS Corp. and NorthPoint Communications. During her career, Fetter has held senior management positions at Pacific Bell, SBC Communications and US West. In addition to Ikanos Communications, Fetter also serves on the board of directors of Symmetricom Inc., Quantum Corporation and several non-profit organizations. She holds an M.S. from the Tepper and Heinz Schools at Carnegie-Mellon University, a B.A. in communications studies from the Pennsylvania State University, and has attended Exeter University, UK and Harvard Business School Director's College.
Michael Gulett - Director
Michael Gulett joins Ikanos with over 30 years of semiconductor and communications industry experience. For the past 14 years, Gulett has been the president, CEO or COO of a number of publicly traded and privately held companies including Tzero Technologies, ARC International, Siliquent Technologies (acquired by Broadcom in 2005), Virata Corporation, Paradigm Technology and others. He has also held a range of engineering, operations and business management positions at VLSI Technology, California Devices, NCR Microelectronics and Intel Corporation. Gulett has served on the Ikanos Board of Directors since August 2003. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton.
Paul Hansen - Director
Paul Hansen joined the Ikanos Board of Directors in August of 2004 bringing over 20 years of public company experience to the team. From July 1998 to April 2001 he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial officer of TIBCO Software. There he grew the revenue from $34 million to over $300 million. He previously held several positions at Adaptec, Inc. including Corporate Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. There he helped Adaptec achieve more than 50 consecutive quarters of profitability with revenue run rate in excess of $1 billion. Prior to his tenure at Adaptec, Inc., Paul held the position of Assistant Controller of U.S. Operations at Raychem Corporation. He has also worked for KPMG and has served on the Board of Directors of iMediation.
Frederick Lax - Director
Fred Lax has a distinguished background with some of the world's largest telecommunications companies spanning some 30 years with Tekelec, Lucent Technologies, AT&T and Bell Laboratories. With a Masters Degree from MIT in Massachusetts, Fred has significant experience in switch systems technology and development, and has worked at a global level on providing advanced telecommunications solutions and managing growth in over 100 countries including regions as diverse as China, Latin America and the Middle East. Most recently, Fred was CEO and President of Tekelec, a leading developer of next-generation switching and signaling telecommunications network performance management technology, and value-added applications. Fred oversaw Tekelec's growth strategy as it expanded its telecommunications product portfolio, strengthened its competitive position and successfully expanded its global presence including through the acquisition of several private companies.
